GATE LODGES
Stay in one of the four lovingly restored historic gate lodges and dream of times past when typically Gate Lodges served as accommodation for the gatekeeper who besides being available to open the gates at any time, was also required to keep the gateway and the surrounding grounds in order.

COURTYARD SUITE
Once the ancestral home of Ambrose Congreve, Mount Congreve House is steeped in history and exudes old-world grandeur. The Courtyard Suite is located in the West Wing of the house and has its own separate entrance through the shared courtyard. It is tastefully decorated to a high standard with a unique style all of its own.
A cooked-to-order breakfast in the award-winning Stables Café is included in your booking.

WHITFIELD COURT

OFF-GRID CAMPING ON WATERFORD GREENWAY
Discover our newest addition to the Forest Hotel—two charming 100% cotton bell tents set in a peaceful meadow with direct access to the Waterford Greenway and complimentary entry to Mount Congreve Gardens. Inside, enjoy a cosy double bed with Foxford throws and a wood-burning stove. Wake up to birdsong, explore the Greenway, and Dungarvan’s food scene, or hike the Comeraghs. Embrace simplicity with lanterns and stove-heated water. This off-grid retreat offers rechargeable lanterns, crank torches, and solar-powered lighting. A cooler is provided to keep food fresh, and a wood-burning stove for heating and cooking. There is no electricity, ensuring a truly unplugged experience.

Not only is the main Gate Lodge located on the grounds of Mount Congreve Estate – home to one of the ‘Great Gardens of the World’ but it also is centrally located for Waterford’s finest beaches, historic towns, gardens and places of interest.

The Gardens: Mount Congreve Gardens comprise of seventy acres of intensively planted woodland, a four-acre walled garden and 16 kilometres of walkways and are a haven for plant and history lovers alike. Planted on a slight incline overlooking the River Suir, Mount Congreve’s entire collection consists of thousands different trees, plants and shrubs.
Ambrose Congreve’s passion for his spectacular garden is still evident today, view the extensive collection of plants, shrubs and flowers including rhododendrons, magnolias, camellias and flora from every continent in the world.
Take incredible pictures at the colourful Chinese Pagoda, stop off at the Classical Temple, check out the rock waterfall and see the stunning Georgian glasshouse.
