Mount Congreve Estate is located just a 5 minutes’ drive from the N25 and is a 90 minutes’ drive from Dublin. It is connected to and may be accessed from the Waterford Greenway Walk and Cycle path. From Mount Congreve you can visit other gardens in the Waterford Garden Trail such as Curraghmore in nearby Portlaw, Lafcadio Hearne Japanese Gardens in Tramore, Tourin House in Cappoquinn and Lismore Castle in West Waterford. Waterford Museum of Treasures, The Bishop’s Palace and Reginald’s Tower is located in the Viking Triangle is a 10-minute drive.

WATERFORD CITY

At the Museum of Treasures you can find the famous Willem Van der Hagen panoramic painting of a thriving Waterford port from the mid-eighteenth century, commissioned by Waterford Corporation while the original Ambrose Congreve was Mayor. Measuring eight feet by four it is on permanent display and is truly a masterpiece. From Waterford city, you can connect to other great houses and gardens within Irelands Ancient East such as Powerscourt, Kilruddery and Russborough , Wells House, Loftus Hall , Johnstown Castle in Co Wexford. Huntington Castle in Co Carlow or Emo Court in Co Laois.
