The Curious World of Ireland's Follies
An Evening with Robert O'Byrne 19th August Join acclaimed architectural historian, author and creator of The Irish Aesthete, Robert O'Byrne, for a fascinating illustrated lecture exploring Ireland's remarkable follies. From sham castles and ornamental towers to hidden temples and romantic ruins, discover the extraordinary stories behind some of Ireland's most intriguing buildings, and learn how Mount Congreve's own Chinese Pagoda forms part of this rich architectural tradition. The lecture takes place in Mount Congreve House's magnificent Drawing Room, home to its internationally significant eighteenth-century Chinese wallpaper—providing the perfect setting for an evening celebrating heritage, architecture and design. Lecture Ticket: €15 - includes a glass of wine or Elderflower fizz Max attendees: 90 Tickets must be pre-booked All proceeds from the lecture and wine reception will support the conservation and restoration of Mount Congreve's historic Chinese Pagoda.
