Craft, Creativity and Christmas in the Heart of Mount Congreve Gardens!
Have you always wanted to create your own Christmas wreath? With experienced horticulturalist and environmentalist Aoife Munn by your side, you can do just that. In this fun, festive workshop half-day workshop, you will learn how to construct and decorate your own traditional wreath using natural materials.
During this hands-on festive wreath-making workshop you will walk the gardens with Aoife and she will share her top tips for picking yuletide foliage and natural materials. To personalise your wreath, you are invited to bring foliage from your own gardens - ivy, holly, all evergreens, open cones, bay leaf, dried flowers, hydrangea heads, seed heads, eucalyptus all work well... but we will also have everything you will need on-site and Aoife will also supply lots of additional extras and all other materials are provided. Once made, you will bring home your wreath to display in pride of place in your home.
Also included in the first of our Blackbird series of events is Festive Afternoon Tea. Surrounded by gardens, trees, birds and wildlife, our afternoon tea is served on three-tier cake stands with crisp white linen, Irish silverware and fine bone china. Sit back & relax while enjoying freshly prepared finger sandwiches, scones and decadent pastries in the warm country estate surroundings. We offer different afternoon teas, including traditional, vegetarian and gluten-free menus. Cakes are freshly prepared on-site with locally sourced ingredients where possible.
